Har ki Pauri:
This is a beautiful Ghat located on the banks of River Yamuna. The Ghat was built by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhatrihari who came to Haridwar for meditation. Millions of floral diyas dot every single inch of the River Ganga, making it a beautiful sight. Every 12 years, a large Kumbh Mela is organized in Haridwar and the Har ki Pauri remains the busiest Ghat in those days.
Sapt Rishi Ashram and Sapt Sarovar
It's a beautiful Ashram devoted to Seven Sages who came to meditate here. The Ashram is a wonderful piece of architecture with statues of the seven sages sitting in the meditation pose. The Sapt Sarovar, or Seven Streams are the streams of Ganga that flow around the Ashram. It is believed that River Ganga, to not disturb the meditating sages, split itself in seven streams.
Mansa Devi Temple
Dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi, this beautiful temple is located atop the Bilwa Parwat and is one of the most popular temples in Haridwar. You need to take a rope-way ride to reach the temple which is another attraction here.
Chandi Devi Temple
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chandi and is located on the Neel Parwat, 3km from Chandi Ghat. It is believed that Adi Shakaracharya built the statue of Goddess Chandi in the 8th century, and Maharaj Suchat Singh built a temple here for the goddess.
Maya Devi Temple
It is one of the Shakti Peethas and is most important among all. It is believed that the heart of Goddess Sati fell here and thus the temple was built for Goddess Maya, representing the soul of Sati. Goddess Maya is the prime deity of Haridwar.
Daksha Mahadev Temple
The temple is dedicated to King Daksha, the father of Sati and father-in-law of God Shiva. Legends say that King Daksha performed a yagna at this place but did not invite Shiva. Feeling insulted of this act, Sati burned herself in the Yagna Kund. Angry Shiva killed his father-in-law, but then revived him and built a temple for him at this place.
